Baker Barrios Architects is pleased to announce the addition of George Thomas, AIA, CPM, NCARB as Associate Principal and Education Practice Leader, overseeing design and planning for the firm’s K-12 practice area. George has dedicated 30 years of his career to designing academic facilities throughout the United States. As a relentless champion of K-12 education, George has a passion for school design that brings the best learning environments to all students.
Thomas has over 30 years of experience, including working as an architect of record for education facilities and leading projects for Orange and Seminole County Public Schools. He has earned his Master of Architecture from the USF + FAMU Cooperative School of Architecture and his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Florida.
An accomplished and client-focused architect, George has extensive experience working with new construction and renovations for various education facilities throughout Florida, Texas and Louisiana.
When he’s not working, Thomas can often be found golfing or sailing.
